NOTICE: Utility Bills Amid Canada Post Strike

The Town of Thorsby has received information that Canada Post has changed their rules regarding local postage amidst the on-going strike. Canada Post has now determined that they will not deliver local mail to local Post Office boxes in addition to not delivering to non-local locations. National Volunteer Week!

April 24 2022

The Town of Thorsby is pleased to support and celebrate National Volunteer Week, which falls on April 24th – 30th 2022. However, Volunteerism in Thorsby and throughout all of Alberta does not end when National Volunteer Week is over. The Town of Thorsby is dedicated to promoting volunteerism and volunteer events all through the year through our Community Grants Policy (#2016-001), event promotion online and offline, and engagement of our community.

We are proud to boast many volunteer engaged groups within our community. People in Thorsby young and old are engaging in volunteerism more than ever and showcase their empathy and compassion every day.

Alberta’s non-profit sector consists of over 26,200 charities and non-profit organizations and contributes almost $5.5 billion in GDP (gross domestic product) to Alberta’s economy. The importance of volunteerism in local and provincial government cannot be emphasised enough. During National Volunteer Week be sure to thank your local volunteers for all their hard work throughout the year!
