Canadian Mental Health Week
“The road to tomorrow is paved with hope. There are pages unwritten, stories untold, and a new chapter to begin”
-Author unknown
One in five Canadians experience some form of mental illness every year, however this number only includes those who have been diagnosed. It's important to remember that the people around you whom you know and don't know are all fighting their own battles every day. It takes an incredible amount of bravery to come forward and reach out for help, and an extraordinary amount of empathy to reach your hand out to someone in need.
During Canadian Mental Health Week, lets all take the time and remember what it means to be empathetic, to listen to the pain of others, and be a support system. Even if we don't know whether a person is suffering or not, it's important that we always place kindness first in everything we do.
Take the time today to reach out to your family and friends and tell them you care about them.
