Community Grants

Thorsby wishes to promote community spirit through support for non-profit events and/or non-profit groups who commit time and effort in helping to make the Town the great place it is to live. Through the annual budget process, a limited amount of funds will be set aside on a first come basis to provide assistance to those groups and individuals who meet the criteria for funding.

Interested in seeing if your event qualifies for community grant funding?

  1. Take the time to review the details outlined in the Community Grant Policy and see if your non-profit group qualifies for funding. This funding will only support events that are held and occur within the Town of Thorsby.
  2. Fill out the Community Grant Application.
  3. Submit your application to the Legislative Clerk at jcarleton@thorsby.ca to be considered at the next regular council meeting.

Please note that all community grant applications are considered by Council, and if you wish receive funding, you must submit your grant application at least 1-2 months ahead of your event to accommodate bringing it to Council at a regular meeting, and then remitting payment of the funding if successful. You can find the dates of all upcoming Council meetings for the year here.
