Getting excited for May Long Weekend?
There's something for everyone, so here's your comprehensive timeline so you can plan your perfect weekend, and any new or updated information will be added/changed as we get closer to the long weekend:
- The Slo-Pitch Tournament and Beer Gardens, graciously put on by the Thorsby Chamber of Commerce, kicks off Friday, May 17th from 6pm - 9pm at the Arctic Spas Recreation Complex (4901 48 Ave, Thorsby, AB).
- Start off the day right with a full stomach on May 18th at the Thorsby Lions Club and Campground (4905 55 Ave, Thorsby, AB) and have a delicious pancake breakfast from 9:00am to 11:00am, hosted by the Thorsby & District Lions Club.
- The Slo-Pitch Tournament & Beer Gardens continue again on Saturday at the Arctic Spas Recreation Complex (4901 48 Ave, Thorsby, AB) and runs from 9am - 9pm, with a break from 11:45pm to 1:00pm for the parade.
- Speaking of the parade, head over to find the perfect spot along our parade route to watch the Thorsby May Long Weekend Parade from 12:00pm - 1:00pm. Are you interested in joining the parade? It's sure to be an exciting showcase of community pride, and you may even see something new & surprising!
- The team at the Arctic Spas Recreation Complex (4901 48 Ave, Thorsby, AB) is at it again and never stop delivering with an amazing Family Fun Afternoon hosted from 12:30pm - 3:30pm. Enjoy some yummy treats from vendor Da Scoop Ice Cream and Snack Shack!
- Support the next generation of students at the Arctic Spas Recreation Complex (4901 48 Ave, Thorsby, AB) with the 2025 Grad Class Fundraising Barbecue, hosted both Saturday and Sunday of May 18th & 19th.
- Starting from 1:00pm, the Thorsby & District Cultural & Historical Society is hosting their annual Cornhole Tournament at the Thorsby Community Centre (4813 49th Street, Thorsby, AB).
- Did you know Thorsby first incorporated on December 31st, 1949? We've come a long way! Join the Mayor and Council at the Arctic Spas Recreation Complex at 1:30pm for speeches and free cake and coffee to celebrate our 75th Year of our wonderful little Town. Happy birthday, Thorsby!
- End your day on a delicious high note with a Meatball & Mashed Potato Supper starting from 5:30pm - 7:30pm, also at the Thorsby Community Centre (4813 49th Street, Thorsby, AB).
- The Slo-Pitch Tournament continues through to the end of the weekend on Sunday, May 19th from 9:00am - 7:30pm, along with the Beer Gardens during the same time, at the Arctic Spas Recreation Complex (4901 48 Ave, Thorsby, AB).
- And don't let the fun stop there, the next weekend on May 25th & 26th, head over to the Thorsby Haymaker Centre (4903 - 45 Street, Thorsby AB) for the annual Thorsby Haymaker Rodeo hosted by the Thorsby Agricultural Society.
