WHEN and WHERE to vote

Voting will take place on the 18th day of October 2021

Voting stations will be opened between the hours of 10:00 A.M. and 8:00 P.M.

Voting stations will be located at: 4901 48 Ave, Thorsby Alberta T0C 2P0 (Field House - Recreation Centre)

Do I need identification to vote?

In order to vote, you must produce one piece of authorized identification that establishes both your name and current residential address.

Examples of authorized identification include:

  • Alberta Driver’s Licence
  • Alberta Identification Card
  • Bank/credit card statement or personal cheque
  • Income/property tax assessment notice
  • Insurance policy or coverage card
  • Statement of government benefits (such as employment insurance, old-age security or social assistance)

This is in accordance with Section 53(1) of the Local Authorities Election Act (LAEA) and Section 95(1)(a)(ii) of the Election Act (EA).

Do I have to be on a voters list or a permanent electors list to vote?

There is no voters list nor permanent electors list for the Thorsby Election.

Voters must provide authorized identification at a voting station, such as an Alberta Driver's Licence or an Alberta Identification Card.

Instead, voters are required to fill out Form 13 Elector Register when they attend a voting station to confirm they meet the qualifications required to vote.
