At the October 10, 2017 Regular Meeting of Council, Mayor Rasch presented Councillor Rick Hart with a certificate of recognition for his thirteen years of service to Thorsby.

Councillor Hart moved to the community in 2001 and entered his first election race in Thorsby in 2004; He has served the community since that time, completing four terms in office and has been the Town appointed Board representative on the Leduc Foundation for many years, and has seen many changes over that time.

Securing the Esso waterline, new logo and change of status to Town, effective January 1 this year and commencing the long-term planning of infrastructure replacement/repair supported with a financial plan are what he considers some of the highlights over the past thirteen years. While the past two years have seen the infrastructure plan starting to be put into action, Councillor Hart acknowledged that there is still a lot of work on infrastructure to be done and in wishing Thorsby all the very best for the future, he expressed his hopes that future Councils would continue on with that work.
