Following results of the dissolved oxygen testing throughout both ponds last week and the resulting calculations to determine what level/type of aeration needs to be added, we are now able to pass along the information on recommendations made that were made by the consultant. Water Update - August 27

We received back the results of the recent water analysis that was undertaken. Algae and cyanobacteria were the cursers that were looked for within our raw water ponds and we are happy to report that there is no cyanobacteria bloom present which is good news. Everything showed within acceptable ranges and which leads us to believe that the odour is caused by naturally occurring bacteria called Actinomycetes. Fortis planned outage Thursday Aug 24, 2017

Please be advised that due to a planned power outage Thursday August 24, to replace a power pole that was struck by a vehicle between the Municipal office and the Hotel today, the office will only be open until 10:00 a.m on Thursday, and Arctic Spas Recreation Complex will not be open at all, while crews carry out essential pole replacement work. Water: Further to last weeks update, we are still awaiting on the results from the raw water pond testing. The results from the tests will provide direction for focus on resolution to the taste and odour issues that have been experienced over the summer.
