Water Update - Sept 20

Posted on ago

Work has commenced this week on the installation of the diffuser aeration system as the raw water ponds. The wet weather has impacted the installation by a few days, but it is hoped the work will be completed by the start of next week. The installation will permit the diffusion aeration to work on increasing and maintaining the oxygenation of the ponds over the coming months, and ultimately ensure full cycle and reduction of the nutrients and bacteria impacting the health of water body. WATER UPDATE - Sept 6

Posted on ago

Last week we advised of the findings of the raw water pond study, and the recommendation to introduce diffuser type aeration at the bottom of the pond, rather than on the surface.  This type of aeration is also designed to keep the surface of the ponds open over the winter months to enable ongoing completion of nutrient and bacteria lifecycle and to restore balance to the ponds. Water Update - August 27

Posted on ago

We received back the results of the recent water analysis that was undertaken. Algae and cyanobacteria were the cursers that were looked for within our raw water ponds and we are happy to report that there is no cyanobacteria bloom present which is good news. Everything showed within acceptable ranges and which leads us to believe that the odour is caused by naturally occurring bacteria called Actinomycetes. Actinomycetes are closely allied with microscopic plants and are one celled,... More...
